I’m coming to ski. What can I expect? The Telluride Ski Area has over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain that covers all ability levels. Accessing the terrain is easy from either Telluride or Mountain Village and there are rarely lift lines. Shops, restaurants, and lodging options are located in both Mountain Village and Telluride. For the most part, Telluride has more nightlife and Mountain Village has easier access to the bulk of the skiable terrain. Both towns have grocery stores and year round residents. I’m coming for a festival. What can I expect? Three summer festivals in Telluride are significantly larger than all the others: Bluegrass Festival around summer solstice, Film Festival Labor Day weekend, and the Blues and Brews festival in late September. These festivals have a repeat following and you may find it difficult to navigate the town, park, and make dinner plans. If you are coming for a smaller festival, you can expect moderate crowds, and easy navigation of the town and no problem finding a table at most restaurants. For every festival you can expect great entertainment, good food, and beautiful scenery.
