The 17th Telluride Blues & Brews Festival

The much anticipated Telluride Blues and Brews festival is coming soon! With three days of fantastic blues, accompanied by some of the best microbrews in the country, the $160 three day pass is quite a steal. Held annually, this year's event takes place September 17, 18, and 19 in Telluride Town Park. This year's line up includes Grady Champion, Alberta Cross, Beth Hart Band, T-Model Ford, and many other stellar blues bands, with B.B. King and George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers, Derek Trucks and the Susan Tedeschi Band headlining the event. The music extends beyond the blues - soul, rock, and gospel will also be on the lineup. http://tellurideblues.com/M4/lineup.html

Aside from the standout bands, there will be plenty of breweries to choose from, many of whom are Colorado locals! Colorado favorites include: Great Divide Brewery of Denver, Eldo Brewery and Taproom of Crested Butte, Kannah Creek Brewing Company of Grand Junction, Odell Brewery of Fort Collins, Ouray Brewery of Ouray, Aspen Brewery of Aspen,Twisted Pine Brewery of Boulder, Estes Park Brewing Company of Estes Park, and Telluride's very own Smuggler's Brewpub. The Grand Tasting of over 150 beers takes place on Saturday, from noon - 3 p.m. on the festival grounds.

There are plenty of food vendors in the park during the festival to satisfy your appetite, as well as crafts for children. And what about when the festival on the fair grounds is over? The party doesn't stop! Head
downtown to one of the juke joints to keep rockin'. Many of the bands will continue to play at these indoor venues, so you can jam all day and all night!

Come for the Blues and Brews Festival, but stay a few days later or arrive a bit early and see why B.B. King exclaimed in 2004, "Out of the 90 different countries I've been to, I've never seen anything more beautiful than what you have here."  There are still properties available and some properties are offering the 4th night free.
