Nearly 365 days a year, there is something happening in the Telluride art world. Live music, art classes, culinary lectures, live theatre, and dance lessons are all available in our small town. Telluride hosts festivals full of local flare all summer long, with two film festivals and several more music festivals. You can take in a movie, live music, or even a Metropolitan Opera performance all year round. Click on our Events/Festivals tab to see a calendar of current and future Telluride events.
The Telluride Art Walk is a reception to showcase artists working and living in Telluride and those who display their work in participating businesses. It is presented by the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities to promote cultural tourism. Participating artists and galleries agree to stay open "late ‘til 8" the first Thursday of every month (except May and November/December, our off-seasons). Ahh Haa School for the Arts
Since 1990, the Ah Haa School for the Arts has provided inspiration, resoruces, and classes for artists and art lovers of all ages. The school offers classes in a wide variety of artistic expressions including painting, ceramics, sewing, writing, book binding, photography, cooking, and the performing arts. Depending on the class, both one session and multi-session classes for anyone to enjoy; each class description details the cost and target age for people interested in participating. The Ah Haa School for the Arts is located at the historic train depot on the South end of Townsend Ave.

Telluride Dance Academy
The Telluride Dance Academy offers a full range of dance classes for students of all ages and often has workshops with visiting instructors. The Academy helps bring professional dance companies, such as the State Street Ballet, and has an anual performance of The Nutcracker each year with professional dancers as well as students from the Academy. The Telluride Dance Academy is located in the historic Silver Bell building on the corner of Spruce and Pacific.

Sheridan Arts Foundation
Created in 1991, the Sheridan Arts Foundation brings a wide variety of performing artists into the cultural and historic heart of Telluride, the Sheridan Opera House. Darryl Hannay, Sissy Spacek, Rob Corddry, Jimmy Buffet, Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker, Taj Mahal, and The Wailers are just a few names on the prestigious list of performating artistsis who have graced the town of Telluride with their talents thanks to the Sheridan Arts Foundation. Year round, the Sheridan Opera House hosts events of the Sheridan Arts Foundation as well live theatre and music provided by headliners and locals alike. The Sheridan Opera House is located just off of Main Street on the west side of the courthouse behind the New Sheridan Hotel.

Stained Glass Art Company
Patti Childers is the owner and founder of the Stained Glass Art Company. Driven by a love of nature, art, and glass, she creates beautiful works of art sold at her gallery. Classes for one to four people are also offered for anyone interested in learing about this unique craft. Her gallery and studio are located on the way to Lawson Hill and accessible via Telluride's free bus system, the Galloping Goose.

Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities
Established since 1971, the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities is Telluride's oldest arts agency. It is dedicated to outreach and education, the Council also works to ensure that culture in Telluride is affordable to all families. Programs include free seminars for artists, Art in Public Places, as well as astronomy and poetry and play readings. Offices are located in the Stronghouse Studio Gallery; a visit to Stronghouse Studios feels like a visit to an out of the way artist's community in a large city, and you'll always find something new and from the hands of Telluride's local artists.

Telluride Repertory Theatre
Since 1990, the Telluride Repertory Theatre has been delighting audiences with both classic and modern works on stage. In addition to live theatrical performances, the company provides play readings, workshops, and programs for youth. Recent productions include Chicago, Shakespere's As You Like It, and Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune.

Palm Theatre
The Palm Theatre opened in 2004 as Telluride's most state of the art performance facility. Physically attached to the Telluride Middle/High School, the theatre provides events for school children as well as evening performaces for all ages. Recent productions include the Met Opera's production of Adia presented in HD on the theatre's "sliver screen", the Harlem Gospel Choir, and Henry V presented by presented by the Guthrie Theatre.
