Lifts open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. (times are subject to change after Daylight Saving Time March 14, 2010) With over 2000 acres of skiable terrain and 120 trails, Telluride offers a wide range of runs with something for everyone. Read more below to see what Telluride can offer you and your family. Beginning Skiers and Riders ... Consider Ski School to start your snow experience with guidance and encouragement. The Meadows and Ute Park offer gentle beginning hills. There is a "magic carpet" located 100 yards down the Meadows for mellow beginning practice. Ute Park is quiet, gorgeous and a great place to gain confidence. You don't have to go through the "park" part if you are not ready to do so. After skiing in Ute Park, you can go down double greens if you are ready or download Chair 10. Getting the Hang of It ... Chair 10 offers miles and miles of cruising, groomed double green runs. The Enchanted Forest is located at the top of Chair 10 and is a great entry into the trees. The Enchanted Forest is loved by kids of all ages. You should be able to comfortably turn and stop on the Meadows or Ute Park before skiing or riding down Chair 10. Intermediate ... You have a lot of choices. Chairs 4, 5, 12 and 14 all offer blue and double blue runs, some groomed, some bumped. See Forever is a must ski run for any intermediate skier or rider. The 360 degree view on the top of Gold Hill is simply not to be missed. Prospect Bowl offers family-friendly terrain in a gorgeous alpine setting. Expert ... Chairs 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 14 all give choices of trees, steeps, bumps and adrenaline. Telluride runs steep, so start easy. Most black and double black runs are not groomed, but a few are, check daily grooming reports for more info. Revelation Bowl is an above tree-line bowl that collects all of the snow blown off of the rest of the top. It's really sweet in there. Be careful on low visibility days though. Big Mountain ... Telluride's steep. Start easy and have a blast. Guides for hike-to and double black terrain are available through Ski School. Park ... Telluride has 4 parks, ranging from beginner to expert.
